D. E. Bill… The Lib Dems are coming for you!
Nick Clegg has stated that the Lib Dems would repeal Labours digital economy bill if they came to power at the next election. Mainly because of the authoritarian parts about blocking internet connections of first time offenders. Several broad band providers, such as TalkTalk, continue to oppose this bill.
Nick said:
“We did our best to prevent the Digital Economy Bill being rushed through at the last moment. It badly needed more debate and amendment, and we are extremely worried that it will now lead to completely innocent people having their internet connections cut off,”
“It was far too heavily weighted in favour of the big corporations and those who are worried about too much information becoming available.”
The current CONservative MP for Reading East, Robert Wilson, didn’t bother to turn up to vote on the Digital Economy Act.
Vote Lib Dems, get Nick Clegg… its that simple
